FIRE DEPARTMENT

Please call 911 for emergencies.

The Baca Grande Fire Department

serves our Community 24/7/365. In addition to caring for our Community by defending against wild land and structural fires, the amazing team also responds to firefighting and emergency needs of neighboring communities along with the Crestone Volunteer Fire Department through an Automatic Mutual Aid Agreement with the Northern Saguache County Fire Protection District.

The Fire Department team also provides pro-active fire mitigation services for our community, as well as wild land tactical firefighting call-out services for both federal and state agencies around the country.

The Baca Fire Department requires all members to obtain a valid burn permit for any and all burns conducted within the Baca community. The permit is valid only when signed by the Fire Chief. A copy must be kept on file with the Fire Department, and the permit holder must keep the original permit on hand at all times while the permitted activity is in effect.

The Baca Fire Department requires all members to obtain a valid wood harvesting permit to harvest any wood that is cut or gathered on Baca Grande Greenbelts. The permit is valid only when signed by the Fire Chief. A copy must be kept on file with the Fire Department, and the permit holder must keep the original permit on hand at all times while the permitted activity is in effect.
